Practices Need to Credential, Too

Malachi Love-Robinson made the news recently as a fake, young Doogie Howser. This 18 year-old convinced others that he was a real doctor and started a clinical practice. He was discovered pretending to be a doctor and examining patients in a medical office building at St. Mary's Medical Center. It wasn't clear if he was practicing at the related hospital in Florida, but it was reported that this wasn't his first time out. My question is, who checked his credentials? Pieces of paper can be doctored. We all know that. This unfortunate episode only enforces the need for the credentialing process, even at the practice level.
